what’s your problem?!

This weekend was sooo peculiar…I thought it would have a Latino flavor from beginning to end.

Instead of hot Latino mood, I had some communist era flashbacks.

So I opened by buying a pair of pewter pumps by Pedro Garcia – splendid Spanish poem and ended with a Havana Lounge concert – which was supposed to transport me in the 30s Cuba.

But all these delights were shadowed by communist attitude and communist images.

Lets begin by saying that every time I attend a show in Sala Palatului I can’t stop thinking that was the place were Ceausescu used to hold his communist speeches. The place doesn’t look much different now, almost 20 years later and it spoils a lot from the joy of any show.

The staff seems from that era too – they’re so impolite, almost aggressive. A few malicious remarks from some people didn’t help either.

If I sit in the front row I DESERVE to be there. I earned my place in the first row, I didn’t it steal from anyone. If a different door opens to allow me in, it’s because I have special friends. I’m not some daughter of a Senator or dubious billionaire…

I always say “please” and “thank you”, I’m never arrogant and I demand the same respect and courtesy. When I’m supposed to feel I’m in free Cuba – the HEAVEN of freedom, sangre caliente and shit, DON’T project images with Fidel Castro or Che Guevara!  Maybe they look cool for the western world and exotic for Americans, but in a former communist country, it has a very bad vibe.

In a lighter note I forgot my CC in a store. The salesman took his time to leave it with my bank.

The bank called me this morning to announce me the CC is safe & sound, waiting for me to recover it.

Some ray of light for this country, after all!
